Meet the Provider

Hey, I’m Aliyah Ellis

I’m a passionate psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I provide care that is collaborative, thoughtful, and centered around your individual needs.

I take time to understand your full experience before making recommendations. My approach is conservative in prescribing, meaning medications are considered carefully and only when they truly support your goals. Appointments are not rushed, and you will always have space to ask questions and be involved in decisions about your care.

I also take an education-focused approach, helping you understand your diagnosis, treatment options, and what to expect along the way. My goal is to make the process feel clear, supportive, and empowering.

Services

I provide telehealth-only, personalized, evidence-based psychiatric care for residents of Kansas, designed to support your mental health with clarity, compassion, and clinical expertise.

  • A comprehensive initial assessment where we explore your symptoms, history, and goals. This appointment is focused on understanding the full picture so we can develop an individualized treatment plan that makes sense for you.

  • Ongoing care focused on monitoring your response to medication, making thoughtful adjustments when needed, and ensuring your treatment remains safe, effective, and aligned with your goals.

  • I offer pharmacogenetic testing through GeneSight testing to help guide more personalized medication decisions. This simple cheek swab analyzes how your body may process and respond to certain psychiatric medications based on your genetic makeup.

GeneSight testing can be especially helpful if you’ve had difficulty finding the right medication, experienced unwanted side effects, or feel like past treatments haven’t worked as expected. The results provide insights that can support more informed, targeted treatment planning, which helps reduce some of the guesswork when selecting medications.

Testing is quick, non-invasive, and can be done in-office or from home. Once results are available, we’ll review them together and discuss how they may fit into your overall care plan.

  • In addition to medication management, I offer brief, supportive psychotherapy during appointments when appropriate. These focused conversations help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and patterns while building practical coping strategies.

This is not long-term weekly therapy, but it can be an important part of a comprehensive and integrated treatment plan.

  • Mental health is influenced by more than medication alone. I incorporate support around sleep, nutrition, movement, stress management, and daily routines when appropriate.

The focus is on realistic, sustainable changes that support your overall treatment and long-term well-being.

  • Regular check-ins to support your progress, address concerns, and make thoughtful adjustments over time.
